Single user, small library version
All application elements will be housed
on a single PC/Server
meant for a single library and single user
- The OPAC
module is available only on one PC in this installation
- Libraries
connected to the Internet will be able to download MARC-21
records for use in copy cataloguing
- Free
maintenance for one year after installation.
- The
Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) after the first year is 15% of
cost
- Free
training for 1 week in using the software
- If
training is required on using the international standards (e.g.,
MARC-21)
used in the software, this will be charged at Rupees 1000 per
participant
for a 1-week training. In addition, the Institution will need to
bear the cost of travel and stay of 2 persons from NewGenLib.
- Conversion
of existing machine-readable database records to internal
MARC-21 format of NewGenLib is free of charge for up to
50,000 records.
Libraries having more than 50000 records will be charged at Rs
5000 per
one lakh records or part thereof.
- All AMC
customers will be provided free updates and bug fixes for as long
as the AMC is in force. Upgrades (new functionality) will be
offered free during the first year after installation. Upgrades
and New Versions will be available at concessional prices for as
long as the AMC is in force.
Multi-user, single
library LAN/Intranet version
All application elements will be housed on a single LAN/Intranet
Server
accessible to a single library.

module will run on client machines connected to the
LAN/Intranet
- Free
maintenance for one year after installation.

Multi-user, Multi library web-based
networking/consortium version
- All
application elements will be housed on a single public domain
Internet Server accessible to a unlimited number of libraries
configured to be on
the network. Only the library that installs the application on
its web server
and has paid the one-time cost for it (called the Host Library)
will be authorized
to configure its network of libraries (called Associate
libraries). Each Associate
library is charged a one-time cost of 10% of the cost of the
Server installation.
- The OPAC
module will run on client machines of all networked libraries
connected to the Internet or any client machine anywhere as long
as is it
is connected to the Internet.
- Free
maintenance for one year after installation.
- The
Annual Maintenance Contract after the first year is 15% of cost
of the
Server installation as well as the cost of of each network
library configured
to be on the network.
- Free
training for 1 week in using the software
- If
training is required on using the international standards (e.g.,
MARC-21)
used in the software, this will be charged at Rupees 1000 per
participant
