Registration of
Serial issues
This is one of the most labour-intensive
operations in the library.
This chore is a
necessary first
step before the serial issues can be made available to the users. In a large
library that subscribes to many serials,
the registration of issues can be a time-consuming task and, if done by
professionals is a waste of quality time
that could be better employed in other user-oriented services.
All the idiosyncrasies of the serial
as a form of publication have been taken care of, including things like special
issues, combined issues, supplements.
